Genre –
Comedy, Romance, Supernatural

Summary –  After Nanami’s father runs away due to gambling debts and she is evicted from her apartment, Nanami meets a strange man named Mikage. She saves Mikage from a dog and tells him her story. He gives Nanami his house as a thank you for saving him. When Nanami arrives at Mikage’s home, she is shocked to see that it is not a normal home but a shrine for worship. After that she is greeted by both Onikiri and Kotetsu who are the keepers of the shrine. She then meets Tomoe, Mikage’s familiar, and she learns that Mikage used to be the Earth Deity of the shrine and has bestowed upon her his mark so that she may be the new deity. At first Nanami is reluctant, but as she lives with Tomoe, Onikiri and Kotetsu she begins to understand and works hard in her new position as the Earth Deity. As the story progresses Nanami finds herself falling in love with Tomoe, but he rejects her because the love between a human and a yokai is taboo. Despite saying that, Tomoe finds himself falling in love with her too. *Source Wiki

My Review/Thoughts –

Set in a supernatural theme, Kamisama hajimemashita was a different kind of Shoujo anime. God, Shrine, protector, ghosts all these supernaturals elements gave the viewers a new flavor. The story mainly covered how Nanami tried to overcome the difficulties she faced as the God of the shrine and how Tomoe & Namai got closer day by day. Nanami had no extraordinary power and on top of that she was clumsy. However Tomoe was always there to protect her. Well to be honest Kamisama kiss had loots of cliché moments, but if you are a Shoujo lover like me, you will probably love it. Plus it had some good comedy. 😀 Tomoe’s shrouded past was one of the interesting parts of the show, and I was always looking forward to know more of him!! (Which made me want to read the manga :3)

My Thoughts – Akatsuki No Yona is one of the most wonderful shoujo Anime I’ve watched recently. There were a lot of action, humor, emotional moments, adventure and romance in the show, literally everything that I’ve been looking for in an Anime these days.yona screenshots (6)

Summary of Story – The story centers around Erika Shinohara, a vain 16-year-old girl who tells her friends about her romantic exploits, but she actually has no boyfriend. She claims that a handsome boy in a candid photo is her boyfriend, but it turns out that boy is a schoolmate named Kyouya Sata. She has no choice but to make him her fake boyfriend. Unfortunately, Sata may look like a sweet person, but he is actually an ultra-black-hearted sadist. Sata takes advantage of Erika’s weakness and treats her like his dog. *Source Wikia

My review/thoughts –   Romcom/Shoujo being my most favorites genre, I must admit I enjoyed this show more or less. It’s not one of the best Shoujo Anime out there, but at least it was not boring and dull. It was a different kind of shoujo, with a different story & unique characters.

The series pretty much revolved around Erika & Kyouya.  Erika was one of the funniest character of the series. She tries her best to survive any situation, even if it’s by lying. Kyouya on the other hand was one of the most popular guy in school. To everyone else he was kind & charming but that’s just a mask he liked to wear. In reality he was kinda like a sadist. 😛 His true self was that of a black prince. He was very mean to Erika and tried to annoy her in every possible way. There were times I honestly felt like punching him in the face for annoying & hurting Erika over and over again. -_- But eventually love started blooming between them in an exceptional way. 😛

P.S – I absolutely hated the whole master-dog thing though!!! -_- That was very lame to be honest.

One thing I honestly loved about the show is how Erika & Kyouya fell in love with each others’ true selves. They didn’t find it necessary to be fake around each other, they were just being themselves. They were two different people with two different characteristics but they managed to stick together by making sacrifices & adjustments. That was the best part of the Anime.

My thoughts –
Gekkan shoujo is one of the most funniest show I’ve watched recently!! Want a good laugh? Watch this Anime, trust me you wont regret it one bit. 🙂 It’s very refreshing & entertaining and it will make you laugh uncountable times.

The Anime didn’t have a solid plot to be honest. The show mostly focused on the characters and their daily interactions with one another. The story was nothing extraordinary but the constant turns of interesting events was what made the Anime worth watching. One of the most praiseworthy attribute of the show was how wonderfully it combined romance & comedy in the story. That was one of the key selling points of the show.

The best part of the show was the characters and their interactions. Starting from the main protagonists to the supporting ones, every single character was thoroughly likable. They never failed to make me laugh with their silly & weird activities.

Interactions between Sakura & Nozaki-kun were enjoyable to the fullest. Nozaki’s obliviousness when it comes to romance was beyond hilarious and Sakura’s undying attempts to win his heart over was downright adorable. And I personally think that given the chance, Sakura & Nozaki-kun will be an adorable couple. 😀 Continue reading “Gekkan Shoujo Nozaki Kun – Review”
