Parasyte The Maxim – Review

Kiseijuu sei no Kakuritsu / Parasyte The Maxim – Review

Shinichi IzumiMigi

Name – Parasyte The Maxim / Kiseijuu Sei no Kakuritsu
Genres Action, Horror, Supernatural, Psychological
Episodes – 24

Status Finished Airing

Plot – One night, alien Parasites comes to earth and attempts to take over Human minds by entering into their bodies. That would have been the case with ‘Izumi Shinichi‘ as well, but the parasite fails and ends up taking over his right hand instead. He names the parasite ‘Migi‘ and they start co-operating with each other. The story goes on as tragic incidents occur and Shinichi is forced to fight other Parasites with the help of Migi.

My Review/Thoughts – ‘Parasyte The Maxim’ was one of the most Hyped Anime of the season. Even though I strictly avoid Horror Anime, I ended up watching it cause the story of the Anime seemed very interesting to me. An anime about Parasites taking over human minds and eating them alive sounds thrilling enough to me!

My thoughts
– ‘Tamako Love Story’ is a sequel to the Anime Series ‘Tamako Market’. However I didnt watch the series, so for me the movie was sort of like an introduction to the characters and the story. But that didn’t make me enjoy the movie any less. From the beginning till the end, the movie was fun to watch.

Psycho-pass – Review

Psycho-Pass

Name – Psycho-pass
Episodes – 22
Status – Completed
Genre – Sci-fi, Psychological, Action

Summary – The series takes place in the near future, when it is possible to instantaneously measure and quantify a person’s state of mind and personality. This information is recorded and processed, and the term “Psycho-Pass” refers to a standard used to measure an individual’s being. The story centers around the “enforcement officer” Shinya Kougami, who is tasked with managing crime in such a world.
This is the story of a team of policemen dedicated to maintaining public order. Some of them work in the Enforcement Division, responsible for the apprehension of criminals, while others belong to the Supervisory Division which oversees their colleagues in Enforcement. *Source MyAnimelist

My thoughts – I have been waiting to watch a good Psychological/Sci-fi Anime for a long time, and I’m glad I gave this show a try. I received good reviews of it and it lived up to my expectations despite it flaws.

Sibyl System is an advanced system that can measure the mental state of a person and act accordingly. The whole country is ruled by this system & everyone lives a very systematic life. Seems like the perfect combination? Well no, not at all. And I think that was the main theme of the show, that no matter how advanced an A.I. system is, it can’t be perfect enough to control the human mind or society. Human mind is vast and it quiet impossible for a system to completely understand it.

The first few episodes were kind of like an introduction to the characters & the plot. What is Sibyl System, what’s psycho-pass, who are the enforcers all these stuffs were explained, so the beginning might seem slow paced. But the story caught up pretty soon and I got completely hooked. The suspense and the thrill remained up to the 1st part of the story (Around episode 16/17). Like many others, I wouldn’t say the last few episodes were boring, but for me it was not up to the mark, probably because I had imagined a different ending.

Starting from the main characters to the supporting one, every single character was interesting.  The versatility of the characters, overall character development, unique antagonist … all these things made the show interesting to watch.

My Review/Thoughts –

Set in a supernatural theme, Kamisama hajimemashita was a different kind of Shoujo anime. God, Shrine, protector, ghosts all these supernaturals elements gave the viewers a new flavor. The story mainly covered how Nanami tried to overcome the difficulties she faced as the God of the shrine and how Tomoe & Namai got closer day by day. Nanami had no extraordinary power and on top of that she was clumsy. However Tomoe was always there to protect her. Well to be honest Kamisama kiss had loots of cliché moments, but if you are a Shoujo lover like me, you will probably love it. Plus it had some good comedy. 😀 Tomoe’s shrouded past was one of the interesting parts of the show, and I was always looking forward to know more of him!! (Which made me want to read the manga :3)

My Thoughts – Akatsuki No Yona is one of the most wonderful shoujo Anime I’ve watched recently. There were a lot of action, humor, emotional moments, adventure and romance in the show, literally everything that I’ve been looking for in an Anime these days.yona screenshots (6)
